Passing your PPL exams
Ground school is critical: you will need to pass the 9 theory exams set by the CAA to demonstrate that you are a safe and capable pilot. They complement the practical examinations: the General Flight Test, and the Radio Telephony practical.
Theory subjects include:
1 – Air Law, 2 – Meteorology, 3 – Navigation, 4 – Aeroplane Technical,
5 – Radio Navigation, 6 – Instrument Flying, 7 – Human Performance and Limitations,
8 – Operational Procedures, 9 – Communications.
Studying for these exams takes patience and perserverence, you need to ensure that you have the time and the correct study environment if you are to succeed. You can organise your own study time and purchase material, or work online.
